Devon and I had a love story that was truly unique from the very beginning. Our paths had crossed many times over the years, but it wasn’t until we connected on a dating app that things truly fell into place. Despite a three-week wait for our first date, the connection between us felt like it had been years in the making. Our dating life was filled with laughter, joy, and unexpected adventures – from renovating our home to surviving a pandemic together.

The proposal, filled with tears of joy and surprise, took place at Emerald Lake Lodge after a day of cross-country skiing. Devon’s heartfelt words and down-on-one-knee moment left me feeling overwhelmed with happiness. As we began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a destination celebration to truly enjoy the time with our loved ones.

Choosing St. Lucia as our wedding destination was a nod to Devon’s mother and checked off all the boxes on our list. From a private “elopement” ceremony to a reception back home at Blue Mountain, our wedding showcased our love for each other and our unique style. We wanted our events to feel authentic to who we were, with a focus on love, friendship, and creating lasting memories.

The planning duties were handed off to an incredible team led by Victoria, who executed three different wedding events flawlessly. With over 10,000 photos capturing the moments, we were able to simply show up and enjoy the ride. The biggest stress of our planning process was our travel agent. But with the support of our amazing team, we were able to navigate any challenges that arose.

The day before the wedding was filled with excitement and anticipation. The day itself was a whirlwind of joy and love. Writing our own vows, filled with references to cheese, charcuterie, and guacamole, we couldn’t stop smiling. The day after the wedding, we were still riding the high of our celebration and wished we could do it all over again.

Looking back, our favourite part of the wedding day was not a specific moment, but the overall feeling of authenticity and joy that surrounded us. From the destination wedding in St. Lucia to the party-filled reception back home, Devon and I created a wedding experience that was truly one-of-a-kind and filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
