Celebrations by Anne Lemon

Anne’s caring personality and professional attitude are the primary attributes that Anne’s clients value.
Anne Lemon followed up on an inspiration she felt at a family wedding and is now enjoying her career as a licensed Wedding Officiant in the Province of Ontario. In Anne’s words: “It is difficult to call what I do a business…. oh yes, I do perform a service…. but really, standing next to a couple as they promise a lifetime together cannot really be a business…. can it?” Anne established Celebrations by Anne Lemon in 2019 and provides services as a Wedding Officiant primarily to the Owen Sound, and Grey-Bruce areas. Her ceremonies are generally nondenominational; however, couples can add in personal, religious, or cultural elements that suit them. Anne offers several options of services but has observed that most couples book her “Short & Sweet” ceremony. This ceremony efficiently covers the important elements of a traditional ceremony. Anne works with her clients to customize her service to meet their individual needs. Anne’s service typically involves an initial meeting to establish the couple’s vision for their wedding and to confirm availability and to reserve a date. In the weeks before the wedding, Anne meets with each couple to review options for the ceremony and to confirm details. Some couples opt to have Anne attend a rehearsal to ensure that all participants know their roles and see how the event will come down. Anne is invested in each couple that reaches out to her. She loves the whole experience from sharing the excitement of initial consultations and planning to follow-ups after the wedding has taken place. This investment starts with listening to the couple and providing solutions to their questions and concerns. She makes every effort to ease their nerves and support them as they cross the threshold into married life. It is common for her to say, “I’ve got your back, I’ve done this before”.

Anne can be available to perform last minute ceremonies, elopements, and same sex ceremonies. She has worked with many couples to provide unique and personal elements to their special day. “Sometimes a couple want a friend or family member to perform the ceremony on their wedding day. I work with the couple to understand the requirements of the Marriage Act and offer solutions for how to fulfill their vision for their wedding day.”

Anne’s has found that working as a Wedding Officiant is her true joy. Her favorite part of a wedding day is naturally, everything about the ceremony. “There are always the funny little things that happen organically – the flower girls who need to be carried down the aisle, the ring bearer who marches like a soldier. The pets who lay at the feet of their people as they say their vows. Tears of joy (and nerves) from the couple. The energy that fills the space when I finally pronounce them married. I love it all.” How many people call their husband after they carry out their responsibilities and say, “I Love My Job”!!!
