Georgian Bay Wedding
ANGELA & TONY - SEPTEMBER 30, 2023

Our Georgian Bay Real Wedding started when we met online through a dating app, and our relationship blossomed amidst the challenges of a global pandemic. Yet, as self-proclaimed homebodies, the restrictions only deepened our bond. Our ideal dates were simple pleasures—indulging in takeout, cooking our favourite meals in the kitchen (we both love to cook), or sunset walks and cruises, something that became our cherished ritual. Then we’d love to hit the couch and watch our favourite show together. We have recently been loving “Abbott Elementary,” but Tony could watch “The Sopranos” on repeat.

The proposal was a tale of unexpected beauty. We planned for a little weekend getaway for Valentine’s Day. Tony had it all planned out, we would go out for dinner, then take a walk around the city, and when he felt the moment was right, he was going to propose. Unfortunately, nature intervened with a bitter chill of -26 degrees. Amidst the frosty night, the chaos of dying phones and freezing winds, we scrambled to get an Uber and Tony seized the moment in the warmth of our hotel room. I loved how his plans changed, but he still made it special and more of a reflection of the homebodies we are as a couple. We ended the night with some champagne and ordered chicken fingers!

Choosing the perfect venue was a part of our shared vision. Craigleith Ski Club, nestled amidst Blue Mountain‘s majesty, embodied the fusion of nature and contemporary elegance we had always hoped for. Our décor echoed this sentiment, with understated accents allowing the venue’s inherent beauty to shine. Our florist Stems and Roots was amazing!

In our wedding planning journey, we embraced everything together. From selecting music to venue setup, every decision was shared! Despite all our planning preparations, external opinions emerged as the greatest stressor, but we had an amazing wedding planner who helped us remain grounded in honouring our authentic selves.

The day before our wedding was a flurry of anticipation and final touches—a blend of excitement and nervous energy. On the day itself, we were able to relax and be present, which was so important to us. We had a first look, which I highly recommend, as we were able to hang out together before the nerves started to kick in pre-ceremony.

Looking back, aside from saying “I Do”, being able to celebrate our love with all our favourite people was the best part of our day. The dancefloor was never empty, thanks to Night Style DJ, and we were surrounded by so much love and laughter and had so much fun. We wish we could do it all over again!
