Retro 1970's Inspired Elopement

Penny’s Motel sets the backdrop for this 1970’s mid-century modern inspired elopement that was styled to draw on vintage, retro, bright, hip vibes.

Penny’s Motel is a vintage, made brand-new spot located in South Georgian Bay. It’s close to the water and the town of Thornbury, only 10 min from Blue Mountain and 20 min from Collingwood. The venue itself lends to intimate elopements and the perfect stay for you and your wedding party. The courtyard can be transformed into a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception space, and you don’t have to worry about designated drivers because the rooms are only steps away.

Led by elopement and intimate wedding photographer, Marie Scholz, this styled shoot was designed to focus on the details that future couples could find inspiration in, such as the polka dot veil, the curvy backdrops, the colourful florals, and retro stationery, all the while maintaining an intimate style filled with emotion-driven moments. The happiest and the most intimate ones.

The vendors involved were chosen based on their god given talents and shared vision of the experience they wanted to create. Using the venue as the canvas, each additional vendor had creative autonomy based on the look and feel of Penny’s Motel and what they were inspired to create.
